Who I Serve

We primarily support two groups of people in and around Cheyenne.

We serve Veterans who qualify for the VA Medical Foster Home program and need 24-hour supervision, personal care, and a safe place to call home. These Veterans often have complex medical needs, behavioral health challenges, or mobility limits that make independent living or large facilities difficult. In my home, they receive structured daily routines, medication oversight, healthy meals, and consistent supervision in a calm, family-style environment.

We also support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are receiving services through Wyoming’s DD waiver or other funding sources. Many of the individuals I work with need help with personal care, communication, social skills, and life skills. They may also struggle with anxiety, trauma, or past placements that did not fit. My role is to provide a predictable home, clear expectations, and patient coaching so they can build stability and confidence over time.

What Care Looks Like In My Home

When someone walks into my home, I want them to feel two things immediately: that they are in a real home and that things are under control. The environment is organized, calm, and structured so people know what to expect.

My days are built around predictable routines. There are set times for waking up, meals, hygiene, medications, appointments, and activities. Routines reduce anxiety and help people who have experienced chaos or inconsistency begin to relax. At the same time, I individualize those routines based on each person’s needs, preferences, and care plan.

Care in our home includes:

  • Support with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and other personal care tasks, always delivered in a way that protects dignity.
  • Healthy meals and snacks prepared with attention to medical needs, preferences, and cultural background.
  • Medication administration and documentation that follow state, VA, and waiver requirements, with close communication if something changes.
  • A clean, monitored environment that reduces safety risks, keeps clutter under control, and helps people feel relaxed in their living space.
  • Intentional skill building during everyday tasks so people are not just cared for but also coached to do more for themselves when appropriate.

Services I Provide

Because every person is different, I combine multiple service types to create one plan that fits the individual. Core services through Essential Living Support include:

Personal Care Support

I provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility. Personal care is not just about checking a box. It is about helping a person feel safe, clean, respected, and noticed, while also watching for changes in health, mood, or function that need attention.

Life Skills Development

Life skills support focuses on practical independence. That can include learning to keep a bedroom clean, use a calendar, follow a budget, prepare simple meals, or practice appropriate social behavior. I break skills into small steps, repeat them consistently, and celebrate progress so people experience steady growth.

Social And Community Integration

No one is meant to sit at home all day without connection. I plan outings and community activities that match each person’s interests and abilities. This can be something as simple as going to a local store or park, or as structured as a class, program, or faith community. These outings help people practice communication, coping skills, and positive social behavior in real-world settings.

VA Medical Foster Home Care

As an approved VA Medical Foster Home provider in Cheyenne, I open my private residence to Veterans who need 24-hour care in a residential setting. Veterans receive room and board, personal care, supervision, and coordination with VA home-based primary care teams. My military background helps me understand the culture, needs, and experiences of Veterans, and I use that insight to support them as they age or live with chronic illness or service-related conditions.

Why Families And Case Managers Choose Essential Living Support

Families, guardians, and case managers need more than a placement. They need a provider who will communicate, follow through, and treat their loved one with respect. When someone entrusts a person they care about to me, I take that responsibility very seriously.

People choose Essential Living Support because I am Veteran owned and operate from a strong healthcare and disability services background. My home is structured, clean, and closely monitored. Documentation is accurate, and concerns are addressed directly, not avoided.

My work is guided by four core values that shape every decision:

Respect And Dignity

Every person is approached as an adult with worth and a say in their own life. I pay attention to how I speak to people, how I protect their privacy, and how I handle difficult moments.

Independence

Independence does not mean doing everything alone. It means having a voice and making choices. I look for safe ways to increase independence step by step so people gain real confidence.

Community

I believe people heal and grow when they feel connected to others. Outings, relationships, and community routines are a regular part of life here, not an afterthought.

Excellence

As an MBA in Healthcare Management with hands-on experience in disability and Veteran services, I hold myself to a high standard. I work to meet or exceed expectations from the VA, Medicaid programs, and families who trust me.

How To Get Started

If you are a family member, guardian, case manager, or VA professional and think my home might be a good fit, I invite you to reach out. We can schedule a time to talk by phone, meet in person when appropriate, and review what the person needs.

In our first conversation, I will ask about the person’s current situation, medical needs, behavioral supports, and goals. I will explain clearly what I can offer, what my home is like day to day, and what steps are required to begin services. If I am not the right provider, I will say so and help with next steps when I can.

Care that feels like home is possible. If you are looking for a stable, structured setting in Cheyenne where your loved one will be known and supported, I would be honored to talk with you about the next step.
